Coolingtowers

Coolingtower contamination
Coolingtower contamination
  • Recirculating, open coolingtowers often release an aerosol of water into the atmosphere. This is an excellent carrier for Legionella bacteria;
  • Especially in coolingtowers with heatexchangers there is a large chance for bacteria to develop, due to the temperature of the cooling water, and possible dead-ends in the plumbing, in which biofilm and Legionella can thrive;
  • In these coolingtowers chemical additives are used to prevent contamination. When the concentration of chemicals drops below required levels, chemicals are added to the water. However when cooling tower flushes cooling water, the chemicals disappear also. Some of our customers are spending over €8000 a year in chemicals;
  • Required regular maintenance and corrosion of pipes in the coolingtower as a result of the use of these chemicals is also costly;
  • Using BIFIPRO®COOL allows you to use less chemicals, and reduce the need for dumping of cooling water. The reduced chemical usage, and reduced corrosion lead to cost savings;
  • Reduced use of chemicals being dumped is environmentally friendly and sustainable;
