Holland Watertechnology
Origins
Holland Environment has been developing solutions for the remediation of ground and groundwater since 1985. Soil contamination became a serious issue in the Netherlands in the 1980s, when it was put high on the political agenda as a result of the ‘Lekkerkerk Case’, a very expensive project which significantly overspent its budget. For us this marked the beginning of the development of electro-reclamation and electro-bioreclamation – innovative, patented techniques which use electrical current to silently end extremely effectively clean up soil and groundwater, without having to remove the soil from its location.
The depth of knowledge of these processes led to the research and development of products which use copper- and silver-ionisation to eliminate biofilm in water systems and plumbing. Biofilm is the breeding ground of the Legionella bacteria.
Holland Watertechnology is a wholly owned subsidiary of Holland Environment, and develops and markets the BIFIPRO solution.
